I developed a solution called Oreum (오름) to address the challenges that wheelchair users face when transitioning in and out of their chairs independently. Oreum is an electric wheelchair equipped with a cooperative auto seat adjustment feature that helps users re-enter their chairs comfortably, without any pain or discomfort.

The name 'Oreum' is derived from the South Korean Jeju Island dialect, where it refers to the small volcanic cones scattered across the island. Oreum embodies the journey of ascent for disabled users as they transition onto their wheelchair, drawing inspiration from its literal meaning of 'climb.' This project aims to alleviate physical strain and promote independence for individuals with mobility
